I teach a select group of herbs deeply. I was taught that a successful herbalist knows over a hundred uses of one herb, rather than memorizing one use of a hundred herbs. Once a practitioner deeply understands a small group of herbs, you can understand the language of all of them. The style I use to teach materia medica is through your own body, learning to interpret how your body signals respond to herbs. I teach through story, folklore, and case studies from my own practice spanning across twenty years. As both of a herbalist and a classical homeopath, I bring a unique perspective to the practice of herbalism.
The training that is required to become a qualified health practitioner is much greater than this program. A professional program that provides sufficient training for clinical practice is at least 2,000 hours of training and includes health sciences and supervision in clinic.
