A four day Retreat of Ceremony, Music, and Herbal Magic

Salt Spring Island, British Columbia

A residential retreat at the Sacred Mountain Retreat Centre with Seraphina Capranos & Willow Kelly

We are culture-builders, change-makers, justice-seekers, and truth-speakers.

IMG_2999 (1)We stand in solidarity with the Earth and its people, the land, the water, the air, the fire, the Greenbloods, the Redbloods, We name this Earth and our bodies sacred.

All around us, we can experience imbalance, injustice, the seeds of despair and hopelessness desperately seeking to take root. We know we must tend our gardens. We know we must tend our souls, the Earth and each other.

To the beat of the drum, throats open to the song of the spheres, we gather to immerse ourselves in the magic of the Earth, in the magic of connection, of reawakening, restoring and remembering ourselves. We will sink into ancient plant magic and ritual, singing ourselves into wholeness, healing our hearts, and shoring up our energetic resources for our work in the world.

This is a time of healing and tending our precious bodies, this sweet Earth and filling ourselves at the Well of Mystery. We set our intention to heal ancestral heartbreaks, to weave threads of belonging to the land and community, to cast spells of hope renewed, and wholeness remembered. We Will nourish our bodies, mind, and spirits with healthy food, experiential practices and rituals to heal the Earth and ourselves.

For the Earth has dreamed of beauty …
and we long to help make her dream our reality.

Weekend Design

After a gorgeous welcoming dinner upon our first day of arrival, we will create sacred space around a fire under the near-full moon that will be our container for the entire weekend. Mornings will be spent in a facilitated morning practice to wake-up our body and soul. Throughout the day we will sing, drum, dance, make art, celebrate, and make medicine with herbs, our bodies, and share in circle.

We will walk to the ocean. We will commune with trees. We will have a full moon ritual. We will sauna. We will share dreams. Every night will be a fire under the full moon. There will be time and space to be quiet, and have personal integration time. There will be tarot. We will make earth altars. We will enjoy beautiful vegetarian meals made in-house by a local chef. We will be held by the magic of a sacred mountain.

I am a musician, storyteller, and eco-political activist witch, wildly in love with this good green earth. I facilitate experiential, transformational magic and music across the U.S., Canada, Germany and Australia, inviting participants into a direct experience of their own magic and powers of transformation.  I draw heavily on my training and experiences in the Reclaiming Tradition of Witchcraft, the Dances of Universal Peace, the Mevlevi Order of Sufism, my relationship with the green-bloods, and many other diverse mystical traditions.

I use music, trance, dance, singing, art, theatre, ritual, and other creative tools to help us access and dive deeper into our own magic and power, believing that if we are awakening more fully to our purpose, transformation is inevitable. While it can certainly be challenging, we can either dance with it or feel bludgeoned by it. I say, “Let’s dance!”

I am in awe of the ineffable and find religion, dogma, even language insufficient to contain or describe this great Mystery. I look forward to exploring the deep wells of healing, power and magic within each of us, and to witnessing and reveling in the combining of these wells when we come together on this land, sharing our gifts, nourishing ourselves and each other as the veil of Mysteries thins.

Seraphina Capranos

Co-facilitator

Seraphina is a priestess, herbalist & homeopath who’s been steeped in life’s magical riches from an early age thanks to her pagan grandparents and mother.  She has devoted herself to exploring the sacred since the age of 12.  She’s passionate about serving the powers of Nature and the principles of Healing and believes it’s in the alchemy of these two forces blending that humans can find their dance of liberation.

She has been priestessing ceremony and magic in the Reclaiming Tradition since 2005.  She’s a lover of bioregional herbs, wild animals,  island living, and  she’s inspired to stir our world awake through ancestral healing, practises of ecstatic joy, sacred sexuality and plant medicine.  She strives to commune daily with the soft breath of Nature so she can listen deeply to the song of the wild.

She spent 8 years in an intensive Toltec shamanism apprenticeship that radically shifted the way she sees reality, and continues to facilitate a pathway towards a more humble, authentic way of living.

Since 2004 she’s worked at a busy interdisciplinary clinic, The Green Raven Centre, where she practices western herbalism and classical homeopathy. She teaches herbalism, homeopathy and magic internationally.

She lives on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada.www.seraphinacapranos.com
